Im using pidgin for MSN instant messaging, and I use NetworkManager for handling wifi and network on my laptop. When pidgin starts, networkmanager has not yet connected to the wireless network with internet access, so pidgin fails to connect to the MSN account.After a few seconds I got internet access, but pidgin is still not able to connect when pressing reconnect.In order to connect to the MSN network I have to restart pidgin. In other words, I have to be connected to the internet before launching pidgin to login to to my MSN account. Okay, recently.I have come across three major issues:1.Thunderbird Stopped Checking my MSN mail after a recent upgrade: Thunderbird kept giving me negative vibes after I upgraded it, even though I have the Webmail extension installed (along with the corresponding subextension) and I copypasted my password into the dialog box for the password. Im considering switching to KMail so I do not have to log into msn via browser every time. The only problems Im having with the switch are how to I import the emails I already have on Thunderbird to Kmail and how to set up KMail to check my hotmail.

Ive heard that Kopete has file transfer support for more than just MSN (as it seems from what Ive read) and that it supports webcam. Importing my logs shouldnt be a problem because I think Kopete can import my Pidgin logs as well.

(btw, Im using AIM, MSN, and IRC mainly) The gstreamer packages look ugly on my computer because Pidgins the only program using that. I try importing my Pidgin logs and it only imports my AIM logs because it says it cannot import the others for reasons like no such account and mismatching tags. I think I might be messing up.but has anyone successfully imported all their pidgin logs to kopete?

Hey all, Since I installed Pidgin it hasnt been updating the contact list when someone either comes online or goes offline; it always shows the contacts that are online when it logs me on. I dont know what causes this (it could be a missing dependency since my install is pretty minimal) and a search didnt provide the answer.
